Q: How do you get funding for this?
A: As each EcoPartnership is unique, there is no standard way to funding mechanism. The costs should remain relatively low, as each EcoPartnership is responsible for its own funding. Many revenue sources are available for a proactive EcoPartnership, including, but not limited to municipal and corporate budgets, government and private grants, green technology funds, and private donations. The U.S. Government does not provide funding for Eco Partnerships.
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: No.
Q: How often should you interact with your EcoPartner?
A: Each EcoPartnership is different, but general guidance is for each leadership team to visit your partner leadership team, on-site, at least once a year (spread out your visits so you physically see each other at alternate locations, both on-site, every six months). With modern technology, we encourage team leaders to do monthly video teleconferences, and weekly emails and phone calls between team leaders.
Q: How long is an EcoPartnership?
A: Each EcoPartnership will be different, but the target is 5-10 years. If necessary, either participating party can terminate an EcoPartnership at any time.
Q: Does the U.S. Government evaluate the potential partners for an EcoPartnership, or approve EcoPartnerships?
A: No. The U.S. Government merely forwards information concerning expressions of interest in forming an EcoPartnership. It is the responsibility of potential EcoPartners to evaluate the suitability of potential partners and potential projects. Likewise, the U.S. Government does not review or approve individual EcoPartnerships.
